TACKLE STRESS RIGHT?WITH THESE 4 EASY TIPS
Are you needing to tackle your stress right now? If so, here are 4 quick and easy tips.
1. Breathe. Breathing techniques counter the stress response by kicking int he relaxation response..?Try ?”Purse Lips” -?blow out through the lips (sound like a horse but you will feel better). If you are needing to calm your mind and emotions try the “Take 5″ Breathe, the”Star” Breathe, the or “Alternate nostril” breathing. If you need to release more energy try “Wood Cutter”, “Lion’s Breathe”.
2. Move your body. Movement will stop the stress response in its tracks. You can try a yoga flow like sun salutation or the “Dog series” cat and dog, wag the dog, down dog, 3 legged dog and flip the dog.
3. Go outside. Fresh air is full of feel-good negative ions, which can boost oxygen flow to the brain. If you can combine those two- moving around outdoors- you’ll increase your endorphins and energy. Now that spring is here, and most of the snow is melted you can do yoga outside.
4. Mindfully?eating a square of chocolate by placing a small piece into your mouth and and let it melt slowly. Close your eyes to savour the flavours. Research, including a study in the journal Appetite, shows that even a little chocolate can boost your mood almost immediately.Go for the healthier 70% or higher cocoa content.
